| Action Video Games = Better Vision You've probably heard about all the downsides of video games. The main argument against them: they contribute to health related problems such as obesity and tennis elbow. But, did you know that video games might actually be good for you? According to a study by University of Rochester, "video games that contain high levels of action, such as Unreal Tournament, can actually improve your vision." Supposedly, playing high action video games helps your eyes pick out different letters from clumps of symbols. This means that you will be able to read the bottom line of an eye chart better. Maybe, it helps people read street signs while driving, too! (I'm not sure if it actually helps you read street signs while driving, so don't take my word for it. But, it sounds like it should.) ![]() (The picture above was taken by University of Rochester.) The two guys in the picture above, Daphne Bavelier and Shawn Green, are the two guys who ran the study. So, basically, if you use their study as an excuse to play video games, you better give them credit. :) Cool, huh? Now you have an excuse to play video games!
