| Disappearing "Ink"? (cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet PC) I am having a problem that is making Onenote unusable with my ThinkPad X60 tablet. When I use the pen & write notes in the Input Panel and then tap Insert, about 1/3 of the time the text I just wrote disappears & doesn't get placed in the OneNote page. I simply disappears. I have this problem only with OneNote. The Input Panel works fine in all other apps I have tried it in. I have tried to find a pattern for it messing up in OneNote but so far I haven't identified the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

(cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet PC) I'll have to think about your problem but have you tried just inking in OneNote and using the "Convert handwriting to text" feature to accomplish the same thing? -- -Ben- Ben M. | Re: Disappearing "Ink"? (cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet P I have been having the same problem only since I upgraded to OneNote 2007. Similarly, when I ink on the writing pad, the text enters next to the last word entered even though I've hit ënter"to start another line. The blinking cursor is on the next line, but the text jumps next to the end of the word on the previous line. If I hit ënter" two times, the text enters in the correct position. Again, this has been since the ON07 update. I didn't have that problem in the 03 version. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Juneau "Ben M. | Re: Disappearing "Ink"? (cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet P Now that you mention it, I'm also having the problem with text not entering on the correct line. My text also appears on the line before (some times) even though I had clicked the "Enter" button. I don't have an earlier version to compare it to. I am just now starting to use OneNote & it is version 2007. Surely there are more people than just the two of us who OneNote is driving CRAZZY... | Re: Disappearing "Ink"? (cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet P The TIP is a relatively poorly designed tool. If you want to try some great software try EverNote's Ritepen. What is RitePen ? Think TIP, but much better character recognition, and YOU CAN WRITE ANYWHERE ON THE ENTIRE SCREEN ! How ultra convenient. Tablet PC users in the know use RitePen. You can also use RitePen on a graphics tablet well. |

| RE: Disappearing "Ink"? (cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet PC) Hi there: I'm sold on OneNote over Journal or Franklin Covey tablet planner. I started out with 2003 on my first tablet, and now I've upgraded to 2007 on my UMPC. I'm experiencing the same problem with disappearing text. I've gotten good enough to keep up with my notetaking by using the TIP. In 2003, I was fairly proficient. Now, in 2007, I cannot be sure that it will insert. I'll tap the insert button and it either disappears completely, or is up a line or two. I've carefully watched where my cursor is, and when it's up a line, my cursor was still down below. It's really frustrating, because many times, I'm impressed with how well it interpreted my handwriting, and then poof, it's gone. I'm so glad to see I'm not the lone ranger. I've even kept my task manager open to see if it's resources issues, and far from it. Sometimes onloy 2-3% CPU and 10-15% memory overhead. I'd sure like a answer ! | Re: Disappearing "Ink"? (cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet P I have had what seems to be a similar problem in One Note 2007 (the only version I have used). I will be working for a while and converting to text. Then, the suddenly the handwriting disappears as I write. It seems to wait about 5 seconds and then deletes the handwritten text one word at a time. I notice there was a reply to an earlier message but nothing that seems to address the disappearing ink in 2007. | Re: Disappearing "Ink"? (cool on paper, but not cool on a tablet P I found a later post which explained the problem--I had selected Pen as pointer which caused the disappearing ink. Thanks "DixonTrainer" wrote: > I have had what seems to be a similar problem in One Note 2007 (the only > version I have used).
