Office Document Pages in OneNote

Office Document Pages in OneNote
I have used MS Office for a long time now and many times wanted some way to
organize my documents a similar way as I did with binders and collecting
documents in them.
What I find in MS OneNote as almost what I want, but at the same time not,
and that is very frustrating because I think in wouldn’t be too hard to
implement it in OneNote.
In One note I find at the left a list with my Notebooks, I can open each
notebook and find tabs at the top representing sections and groups of
sections, and within each section I have tabs at the right representing pages
and groups of pages.
On each pages I then can edit my notes, write text and have graphics…
This is ALMOST what I want!
What I WANT is to be able to use my ordinary Office tools like Word, Excel,
Visio, Power Point to edit the pages in OneNote, NOT just the editing
possibilities that exist in OneNote.
If it just was possible to specify each page as word, excel, power point,
visio and then have that ribbons for editing that page.
Or if it was possible to add OLE-object to the pages, that OLE-object could
then be word, excel, visio, power point.
Or maybe both the OLE-object functionality and specify each page (i.e. the
whole page could then be a OLE-object, or other similar implementation)
I am cute sure that this change in OneNote would be a BIG HIT and also
better integrate OneNote with the other applications in Office, and create a
“Binder-system” to handle all kinds of office document in one system.
Other things that can be done (after Office Document Pages is supported in
OneNote) are to be able to:
- Link data from different pages ex, an excel page with data, that is used
shown in a word document on another page.
- Use the OneNote editing as an overlay-layer over other office pages, to be
able to have notes on documents, without changes in the actual document at
that page.
- Have a function on the Page-tab at the right to selected and go to that’s
Office Document Pages side.
- Same document at different pages, to be able to edit it in one place, and
have it in several other.
- There is of course mote functionality that can be implemented to support
this new definition of OneNote as the Binder and Note taking system for the
office packages.
Of course I also want to see that the different pages are not just MS Office
pages…
I want it to be, web-pages, Silverlight Apps, html, pictures, PDF… everything!
With this I can the collect documents live or static information and have
everything ordered in my Binder-system, in sections and pages.
To be able to collect relevant information and document together in pages,
sections and in different binders, THAT is what I want!
