| Sync Problems on Network Here is my scenario: 1. Notebooks saved on server running sbs2008. 2. When the windows XP machine's try to open notebooks from a MAPPED DRIVE, we get this error: "OneNote needs a password to sync some of your notebooks". There are no passwords on the notebook. 3. If the windows xp machine navigates directly to the folder on the server, through the microsoft windows network, then it will open the file. Any thoughts. It does work on one machine, and seems as though perhaps windows XP SP3 may be the problem, but that is just a stab in the dark. |

| Re: Sync Problems on Network SP3 might help, OneNote 2007 SP2 should help. Rather than accessing the notebooks via mapped drives (F: or whatever) try accessing them via the IP address path: (\\192.168.1.2\OneNoteFiles or whatever yours is). It's a lot more reliable than the mapped drive letters in my experience. -- -Ben- Ben M. | Re: Sync Problems on Network You may find the solution to your problem here: http://www.readynas.com/forum/faq.ph..._with_Vista%3F Vista can refuse to send passwords using older encryption methods. A quick regedit can solve this issue. For example, I have mapped drives on my home network but I was unable to map drives over VPN. It wasn't accepting the user/password. I made this edit in the registry and was able to map to the VPN network. I have no idea if it is the issue you're having, it's just an educated guess. pwncpa wrote: > Here is my scenario: > > 1.
