| List Notes in Time order? Hi, Just tesing a some difference note taking packages for our needs and I am liking one notes, but one of the big things we would like is something which would track the order in which notes are inputted. I know each entry in a page has a date and time stamp, but we would like one page (Activity Log) which automatically listed all the notes, or at least page name or something, and put them in order by date/time. Is this possible, or is there any addons/powertoys which allow such functionality? Thanks |

Try the "Table of Contents" PowerToy [1]. It seems that it exactly does what you are after. Rainald [1] http://blogs.msdn.com/johnguin/archi...-powertoy.aspx |

| Re: List Notes in Time order? Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it is not what i'm after. The TOC powertoy shows the created and last modified date of each page. I am after something that will list the last modified time of each individual note. Basically, I want to use it as an activity log recording scientific examinations/experiment - pages would be templates. I want it to basically list each note created in a list, allowing for the expermint/examination to be repeated using the exact same processes. It is possible that some pages may be edited on more than one ocassion, or even some fields in a table maybe - this needs to be reflected in the log. Thanks Last edited by RudeYute; 11-14-2009 at 12:46 PM.. |

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry that from your original posting I did not really get what you are after. No, there are no tools for doing what you want to achieve. AFAICS you would need a database solution. Rainald |

| Re: List Notes in Time order? That's a shame, as OneNote has the functionality to store each individual note's timestamp, and all i'm really looking for is a feature which would output these onto one page, along with the note, or details about the note. It also has a lot of the other functionality which we are looking for. Incidentally, is a normal user (with appropriate programming skills) able to code addons or powertoys for OneNote? IE, would our in house programmers be able to code such functionality? Thanks for your help. Last edited by RudeYute; 11-15-2009 at 02:59 AM.. |

Yes, I think so. The API has been laid open a long time ago. > IE, would our in house programmers be able to code such > functionality? Possibly so (depending in his skills). Rainald |
