Why does my OneNote 2007 crash when typing?

My OneNote 2007 Enterprise Edition "crashes" my computer after I type for an
extended period of time. I would see the type cursor blink, but my pointer
disappears and no keyboard functions will respond. I can't even click
CTRL+ALT+DELETE. The only thing I can do is press the power button on my
laptop to shut-down. It will go through the standard shut-down procedures,
which to me indicates that all other functions on my laptop is working
properly except for OneNote. I've tried reinstalling the program, but it
continues to happen. I've run diagnostic checks of the software and it says
everything is working properly. This does not seem to happen when I work on
Word, but it has also happened once on Outlook 2007 (usually at a point when
I've been typing for a while).

Please help.

Any chance your laptop is overheating and protecting itself by shutting
down?
