One of my clients has an issue where one of his open Notebooks doesn't show
in the Notebook Navigation pane. He has to click File | Open | Notebook
every time he wants to access it. This is not an issue with lack of space in
the pane; he has collapsed the list of notebooks on the pane, so I can see
there's plenty of room to show at least 10 more notebooks. How can I get
this Notebook to show in the pane?

Speculation:

He doesn't open a notebook but a single *.one file = section by using

File --> Open section

Then

- the corresponding icon for this open section is "down under" at the
navigation pane, under the icon for the "unfiled notes": easy to overlook

- after closing Onenote it will no more show up at the next start

As I said: just a speculation ... ;-)

The client closed the Notebook, rebooted and this morning, magically, the
Notebook appears on the Navigation pane. Thanks for the recommendation -- I
have no idea if it applies or not. I'll keep this on tap, though, in case it
happens again.
