HELP! I deleted a whole NOTEBOOK by mistake!!

I did a massive amount of online research and was copying the links into
about 30 different pages inside my notebook. I then decided to consolidate
the content of several pages into a smaller number of pages. Without thinking
I somehow deleted my entire NOTEBOOK vs. just a page. I saw no 'undo' option.
I looked in the Recycle bin, but didn't find any OneNote file.

Please help me if you can. Thank you!

Make sure you did not just close the notebook...instead of actually deleting
it. Go to File>>Open>>Notebook.
If you did by chance delete it, check in the backup folder that OneNote
saves backups to.

If your settings were not set too wrong, you should have backups which
are normally made continuously.

Check "Tools | Options " in order to see where the backup files are to
be found.

Re: HELP! I deleted a whole NOTEBOOK by mistake!!

My bad! After a bunch of time trying to track down the OneNote files on my
hard drive, I re-checked the Recycle Bin on the desktop. I found the file -
although I swear it wasn't there the first time I looked. Anyway - problem
solved and I backed up my hard drive too.

For my info - where is the OneNote backup file located?

Congratulations!
Glad to hear that it was not really the disaster you feared it might be.

In the future pls ser the backup feature according to your needs.

As said in my last posting:
"Tools | Options"
Then see "Save".
Also see "Backup".

Rainald

Re: HELP! I deleted a whole NOTEBOOK by mistake!!

You may not have seen the file(s) immediately since when you deleted in
OneNote the deletion occurred in the cache first and then some time later
to the real files.
