| Share OneNote across XP user accounts I'm currently getting far too distracted when I'm on my PC and should be working and so created a separate user account purely for work on XP Pro. I still, however, want to have OneNote as a shared application so that no matter which account I'm using when I update a OneNote page it remains the same regardless of which account I'm logged into. Is this possible? Thanks in advance! |

| Re: Share OneNote across XP user accounts That's one use scenario behind Shared Notebooks. As long as the Notebooks that you want to access are available from both accounts, you should have no problem. Store them in a central location outside of each account's "My Documents" folder (which is where they will be placed by default). You will have to separately open up each Notebook under each account, but the content will be synced and remain identical when accessed from either account. | Re: Share OneNote across XP user accounts Probably the best approach would be to put the OneNote data in the Public Documents folder (in XP it would be in c:\documents and settings\all users\documents, in Vista it would be c:\users\public\documents). That makes it visible to all user accounts. //Steve// On Thu, 11 Jun 2009 05:50:48 -0700, Erik Sojka <esojka@ms-onenote.net.nospam> wrote: >That's one use scenario behind Shared Notebooks. > >As long as the Notebooks that you want to access are available from both >accounts, you should have no problem.
