| do this to get more space on your note page I did not know that I could do it: Press "tools" and then "customize". Then drop and drag all the icons (such as text formatting icons) to the toolbar where it contains menus file, edit, view etc. In this way you can get rid of two toolbars. Saves space and looks better! |

| Re: do this to get more space on your note page You can also move the toolbars around - drag and drop one to the bottom or side of the screen for instance. Just grab the dotted vertical handle at the left end of the toolbar with your mouse, hold the left button down and drag drop wherever you want. -- -Ben- Ben M. The method you posted is really valuable. The more as OneNote - contrary to some other apps like IE - dies not allow to drag a toolbar to the menubar. Thanks for posting your recipe. Rainald P.S. A while ago I found a way to better accommodate the PowerToys' icons. I'll follow your example and post it the other day. P.P.S. Really strange: I can not see Ben's posting in my newsreader (WinMail) |

| Re: do this to get more space on your note page I've done the same thing in Outlook, but I just like to have more toolbar items available in OneNote than I can fit on only one toolbar, so I usually just use the rearranging-the-toolbar-positions approach like you do. Minimus' approach also works on all the other Office components, too, so it's a good one to file away. The only "toolbar" item I wish MS would implement in Office is the ability to "lock" the position of the toolbars, much like the option for the XP/Vista taskbar's "Lock the taskbar" option. As a Help Desk guy, I get a lot of calls from people who have lost their toolbars by dragging them off to some odd location by accident. Having the option to lock them into position until they need to be changed would be a welcome feature in the next release. //Steve// > -----Original Message----- > From: Rainald Taesler [mailto:taesler@gmx.de] > Posted At: Tuesday, 12 May, 2009 15:14 > Posted To: microsoft.public.onenote > Conversation: do this to get more space on your note page > Subject: Re: do this to get more space on your note page > > minimus wrote: > > "Ben M. You may post this as a suggestion for the next version in "Connect", the place for submitting suggestions and bug reports to the developers team: http://connect.microsoft.com/onenote/ When done, pls drop a note with the URL in here so that we can jump in and vote for your suggestion.
