Do you mean using the equation editor found in other Office programs? No,
unfortunately. OneNote does not (yet) support OLE, the underlying
technology that makes this possible.

If the equations are static then a screen grab might suffice. A lot of the
time I use a "roadmap" of equations to see how I got to a point without
having the need to actually rework the issue. I do not think OneNote, even
with OLE, would be the best environment to do the math (derive, maybe
mathcad or matlab), but for application and verification notes it works
quite well. Which is normally the case - OneNote shines at the accumulation
and management of research and information, not writing the papers.

..02.

The best thing I have found to help with this is software at the following
link
http://www.xthink.com/MathJournal2.html

Hope it helps.

In article <#t4uMVrMHHA.4376@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl>, esojka@ms-
onenote.net.nospam says...

Sure you can. Just create a shortcut to

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\EQUATION\EQNEDT32.EXE"

and use that to start Equation Editor separately. You can cut and paste
the equation from the editor to OneNote. It pastes as a picture instead
of an OLE object but at least it is there in your notes. In ON 07 it can
be searched just like the text in any other picture.
