Find and Replace?

I have a recurring word in some pages that I want to replace with another.

How do I a good, old-fashioned, Find and Replace in ON 2007 trial?

Re: Find and Replace?

It can't be done. You would have to copy and paste the text into Word, do
the F&R there and then paste back into OneNote.

Re: Find and Replace?

It's kind of astounding to me that an application designed for writing text
doesn't have something as basic as Find and Replace.

Good luck with the Powertoy.

Re: Find and Replace?

I sort of agree, but ON is for more than text (Ink, images, OCR input,
recorded input, etc.) and while simple F&R for text would be easy to do,
extending that properly to a meaningful experience for all of the types
of content ON can handle is the more complicated project, and may be the
reason why F&R isn't in the product right now.

AFAICS that's all what would be needed.

I do not think that anybody would be asking for a "meaningful" find
and replace in a recording or finding green parts of an image and
replacing them with red <gbg>

Re: Find and Replace?

I agree. I am a novelist using ON to keep my notes and scenes for the book
organized. Sometimes I decide to change a character name, and a replace
capability would make my life a lot easier. I haven't bought ON yet, I'm on
the trial version and love it so far, but that is a major drawback. I'll have
to weigh the pros & cons.
