Lasso Tip for Tablet Users

Did you know that if you use your right click button on your pen, and then
circle something (while still depressing the right click button) your pen
acts as the lasso?

This is my vote for the BEST little feature added to ON 2007. I use it
almost as much as my pens and highlighters. In fact, between scratch out and
this feature, I haven't used an eraser in months (once you have selected the
ink, you can right click on it and point to delete).

It won't work with a touchpad (haven't tried it with an external
mouse--don't use one).

Yes; support for the lasso tool will depend on the features of the Tablet
you're using.

Did you turn it off in tablet settings (control panel)? What is wrong
with it?

My tc1100 has a pen with a button for right-clicking.
It does not do what it shuld most of the time, however.

Oh yes.

Most often just nothing happens. The read circly and the icon with red
muse key in red just do not want to appear so that I have to use
pressing with the pen tip on the screen. And even that fails at times
(especially in the border areas, f.e. the TaskTray.

I'm thinking of having the machine checked by HP.

Re: Lasso Tip for Tablet Users

Ya, I would do that. I have owned my gateway tablet for less than a
year and my pen has been replaced 5 times! I bet HP will be very
willing to help, if you are under warranty.

Thanks for encouraging me.
If I only could live without my Tablet :-( :-(
It's udner "collect and return" warranty conditions, so it will take
some time.
And I do not want to hand out my HDD (because of the data).

Re: Lasso Tip for Tablet Users

Rainald- I also have a TC1100 and just tried the right-click lasso and it
worked. So, it may be your teblet. (Have you tried a different pen- could
be that, too!)

Re: Lasso Tip for Tablet Users

Silly question, but did you try pulling the tip on your pen and replacing
it? I had that problem several times with my TC1000. (Haven't had any
problems with the pen for my IBM tablet, but it is a different kind of pen
than the TC's)

Thanks for the suggestion, Kathy.
I should still have the 3 replacement tips which came with the
machine.
Will try it.
