Printing Rule Lines

This topic has been brought up so many times here on the group. But
Google Groups does not allow me to reply to an existing thread which is
more than 30 days old.

I still do not understand why this is such a big problem. This is
automatic, and logically so, in Windows Journal.

I realise that the prommers, in their infinite wisdom, implemented rule
lines to assist with handwriting recognition. But us users (read
clients) sometimes use rule lines as we would on paper: as a ruler.
When draw something on the page use the grid boxes to align and measure
my lines and angles. I want those to appear on the printed page as
well. When I write my notes I also use the grid to align my writing and
I want to see that on the page.

Hopefully it's obvious from above that I'm using Tablet PC (which is
amazing for note-taking). The vast majority of time I do not convert my
handwriting as text. I leave it as is.

Ifeel I should be able to print WYSIWYG. Right now I print WYSIMTWYG
(What You see Is More Than What You Get) and I feel cheated.

Whenever I have a problem with Windows Journal, which I use less and
less now, I am told to use One Note. But that should be a step up
rather than a side step slightly backwards.

l am using the beta of Office 2007 with OneNote 2007 and I had hoped,
with allthe demand, if only here, that this "feature" would have been
added by now. Unfortunately it isn't.

Can we create an online petition or something?

How many users/clients would have to beg?

This 30 days limit is very short!
Why don't you use a newsreader? Makes usage of this group (and all
other newsgroups) ways easier anyway.
You have one on your computer, even if perhaps not knowing it <bg>:
Outlook Express (part of Windows) has everything needed for
efficiently working with/in a newsgroup. Saves a lot of time over
using any web-interface (incl. Google).

What's still on the MS news-server at present reaches back to July 21.

If one uses the web-interface on the MS Website (which I do not like
at all), the postings reach far more back.

I fully agree with your wish for an option.

You can post this as a suggestion in Connect
https://connect.microsoft.com/onenote

Then post the URL of your suggestion in here and we can jump on it
with votes.

No idea.
We won't se this feature in the coming version 12.0 but the team is
collecting suggestions for the next ones to come.

Re: Printing Rule Lines

I have a great newsreader in my computer. It's called Outlook 2003 and
Outlook 2007 on my Tablet. But it requires downloading and working on
that computer.

The Google interface gives me both Usenet groups and Google groups in
one interface and it searches wonderfully. But most importantly it's
fully web-based and I can therefore use it on any computer.

I can search through threads going back years. I found messages I
wrote back in the late 90s even. But I can only reply to recent
messages or I create a new thread (like this one).

It's a personal choice but not a completely ignorant one.

Double Posts coming from Google?

In article <1161422354.278155.322990@k70g2000cwa.googlegroups .com>,
derek.erb******.com says...

Well, I think now we may know the source of the double posts. I'm going
to start checking the headers of all the double posts to see if they are
all coming from Google. If so, I will send them an error report. I will
also send one to Microsoft because I have only seen these double posts in
MS newsgroups. There may be something about the way the two systems
interact with each other and have nothing to do with what the user does
or sees.

No, Outlook is no *Newsreader*
It would be Outlook Express.
There only is an add-on for OL "Bloodhound" it's functionality is not
too powerful.
