| Why doesn't my OneNote player play embedded audio files correctly? OneNote 2007 Two questions: 1) When inserting copies of audio files onto a page - no matter how it is done - the files are linked to each other and the player adds the total time of each track. This means: a. I can't play each track separately b. I can't see the length of each track separately c. I can't easily skip through each track separately via the audio gauge because the gauge is so small compared to the enormous length of all the tracks added together. I hope that makes sense. Any solutions to this? 2) As stated above, each new audio file/track I insert is added to the previous tracks in total time. Therefore, for instance, track 1 is shown as being minutes 0 to 1, track 2 is minutes 1 to 2 , track 3 is minutes 2 to 3 on the audio gauge, and so on. This is fine until track 4 is inserted (the same way as all the others). In our example track 4 should be minutes 3 to 4 on the gauge, and will be if I allow the player to play from track 3 (or earlier) to track 4. However, if I double-click on track 4, it will play fine, but the audio gauge will falsely show it being the minutes that track 3 is actually on. Therefore, if I tap the 10-second skip button (or just anywhere near the tracker), the tracker will move appropriately, but the player will then begin playing the actual track in that location (track 3 in this case). A couple of notes: This second problem seems to be linked to text-notes that I take during track 3 (the notes that will be highlighted as track 3 plays). Therefore, during track 4 playback (the one incorrectly shown on the gauge) the text-notes I made for track 3 are being highlighted as the tracker passes those points. Thus I can't take text-notes for track 4. Now, if I let the player play through to allow track 4 to be correctly shown on the tracker (as described above), any notes I take will still be linked to previous tracks. In other words, when I click on them, they will play the wrong part of the wrong track. So, how can I insert audio files, one at a time, take notes as I read them, and still keep everything functioning properly? I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read all of this. I hope to have both questions answered. I really think this feature has a lot of potential, but I have wasted so much time trying to get it to work properly. Thank you very much! |
