I am starting to tag more in ON like I do online so it is becoming a
important function of the application for me. However when trying to create
a summary tag page I only get the Flag icon tags both dimmed and not dim.

Like the other @YouBetcha's post what the heck is the diff between the two.

But more importantly where are all my custom tags? I'd really like to
create summary pages based on types of tags

Open the tag summary task pane. Check to see if "Show only unchecked items"
is checked. If it is, you will only see the checkable tags. If unchecked,
you should be seeing all tags in your summary.

Once you have done that, you can group your tags by any of a number of
things by change the value for the "Group tags by:" drop down.

Can you tell us what you mean by "dimmed or not dimmed"? I have never heard
that term and don't know what you mean....
