| One Note 2007 - How to change the note container background? How can I make background of a One Note "note container" opaque? The default is transparent so when you move one note on top of another the words overlap and become illegible. Also, is there a way to change the packground of the note container? I want to modify the note container to use it as an electronic "sticky note," like a post-it. |

| RE: One Note 2007 - How to change the note container background? You can turn the containers OFF or ON in tools \ options. There is a checkbox for :Show containers on pages. The background color cannot be changed. And here's a tip: if you SHIFT+drag the containers on top of each other, they get combined into one. Give it a try - it may help. -- Thanks for using OneNote, John Guin OneNote Test Team http://blogs.msdn.com/johnguin "WIOneNoter" wrote: > How can I make background of a One Note "note container" opaque? | RE: One Note 2007 - How to change the note container background? John, This is a good tip which I didn't know. However, as a Tablet PC user it's not much use to me as there is no quick way to shift (or control) without have the TIP keyboard up. Do you happen to know of any better way of shift-clicking and ctrl-clicking? Is the situation any better in Vista? Is there anything (as an author of very cool addins) you could do about it in OneNote? This is the one thing that irritates me about my tablet! |

| RE: One Note 2007 - How to change the note container background? Hello Sothis, The API doesn't allow for UI interaction with the data on the page. Not much anyone can do for a powertoy. I tried setting the pen flicks "Copy" command to be "Cut" instead. Now I can cut and paste entire outlines (containers) a little bit easier. It's still not as simple as the shift+drag, but it's closer. The only other thing I could think to do is see if your tablet lets you map one of the tablet buttons to be a shift key. My HP doesn't allow it, but I think the lenovo drivers were more flexible. | RE: One Note 2007 - How to change the note container background? Thanks for your reply, John. I have a Motion tablet that doesn't let me map the buttons to shift and control. I've seen this question asked several times (especially by graphics people, who are even more frustrated by it than I am) and find it very odd that now Vista doesn't include this functionality. Don't people need to copy and move files? I noticed the lack within an hour of picking up a tablet. I assumed that someone would have a fix for it, like a couple of icons in the systray or a gesture, but no. Oh well... it's hardly the end of the world!! |
