Will uninstalling Windows Desktop Search Damage OneNote

I've suddenly discovered that this intrusive and useless search
feature has replaced my Classic Explorer Search tool. I really,
really hate Windows Desktop Search. I don't want to break OneNote
2007, but can't stand having desktop search on my computer! Can I
uninstall WDS by using the method found in Windows Desktop Search
Admin Guide as shown on the forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ site from a
2006 post?

If WDS is not installed, OneNote will revert to using its internal search
engine. You should be fine as long as you use the search UI within
OneNote. I don't believe that the Classic Explorer Search tool can index
or read inside OneNote files.

Re: Will uninstalling Windows Desktop Search Damage OneNote

Thanks, Erik. I only need OneNote's indexing capabilities with
OneNote. With the way my information is organized, I don't need WDS.
I only rarely need to use Classic Explorer Search, as well as using
Creative Elements software to "fix" the search tool.

So, I'm gonna wipe out WDS everywhere it's nasty little tentacles
reach, including a hot fix which doesn't make clear it's for WDS
(found it mentioned on same site).
