| Does OneNote 2007 require Windows Dektop Search? Hi everyone, I just re-installed Win XP and OneNote 2007 on my tablet. I have not installed Windows Desktop Search yet. I noticed that the ON search function seems to work. I am trying to minimize the programs I have installed (to maximixe PC performance). What functionality in OneNote 2007 will I lose if I don't install WDS? -- Thanks Dave |

| Re: Does OneNote 2007 require Windows Dektop Search? Nothing, as far as I know. I don't have it installed and I can search to my heart's content... C. Applicable only to Windows XP not Vista. Installing adds a "Vista" like search. If you do not install, you will likely get a prompt to install each time you open Outlook 2007. In Outlook 2007, go to Help and search for Windows Desktop Search for more information and direction on how to turn off the prompt. Don |

There is a PowerToy that you can install to add this feature to your OneNote installation. That PowerToy requires the presence of Windows Desktop Search to work. link to PowerToy: http://blogs.msdn.com/descapa/archiv...d-replace.aspx |
