| Tags Summary not showing all tagged notes I am attempting to create a summary of the tagged notes within a notebook which is many sections, section groups, and pages. Unfortunately, not all the notes appear. If I rerun the summary from a different page or section in the notebook, I get a different list? How can I be sure to get the same list every time and have confidence that I am not missing tasks. Note: The same thing occurs across all notebooks as well. |

| Re: Tags Summary not showing all tagged notes I would start with a couple of quick checks: 1) What is the scope of the summary? Underneath the list of tags, you will find a drop down for the search scope. Make sure it is set to "This Notebook" or "All Notebooks". 2) Make sure you haven't checked the box to show only unflagged notes. That will cut out non-to do items. I am also wondering if the grouping has anything to do with what you are seeing. It shouldn't shorten the list, but it will put things in a different order (especially if you are grouping by date). -- Kathy Jacobs, Microsoft MVP OneNote and PowerPoint Author of Kathy Jacobs on PowerPoint Get PowerPoint and OneNote information at www.onppt.com or on my blog, http://geekswithblogs.net/VitaminCH/Default.aspx I believe life is meant to be lived. | Re: Tags Summary not showing all tagged notes 1. The issue occurs when I have either this notebook or all notebooks. 2. I do have the flag set for the "show only unchecked items" as I only want to show unchecked items. When I refresh the results, I do not show all the unchecked items in the notebook. 3. Additionally, if I run a refresh results by section or by tag name, I get a different set of results. It appears that if i run by section, then sort by tag name I get a complete list. However, if I then refresh for only tag name, then I begin to lose tags. Big mystery. 4. I have been using ON since the initial Beta in 2002 and love the product, but I need confidence in seeing my action items. | Re: Tags Summary not showing all tagged notes In addition to Kathy's suggestions, I've noticed that only items whose grouping field is expanded in the display in the Tagged Notes Task Pane will appear on the summary page. For example, if you have three Tags defined, refresh the Tagged Notes Task Pane, and choose Group tags by: Tag Name, only the items whose grouping field is expanded will appear. If all of the items are collapsed, the "Create Summary Page" button is greyed out. This is a handy way to ensure that only the items you want will appear on the Sumary Page. The flip side is that some items will not appear when you expect them to if the grouping field is collapsed. | Re: Tags Summary not showing all tagged notes I have run into the same problem. And I cannot see any pattern as to why a tagged not may or may not appear.
