I mistakenly moved the Unfiled Notes tab to my Work Notebook. I want to move
it to wherever it came from. Will deleting the Unfiled Notes tab in my work
book do that? Or is there some other action I should take?

Go to Tools->Options->Save. Select "unfiled notes" in the listbox, and
click "Modify...". Navigate to the OneNote Notebooks folder in your
documents folder, and select "unfiled notes.one", and hit ok. That will
move the unfiled notes section back to its default location. You can
then delete the extra copy in the work notebook.

Thanks for the reply.
I am able to go to
Tools->Options->Save. Select "unfiled notes" in the listbox, and
click "Modify...".
There I find "Unfiled Notes" not "unfiled notes.one" so I am hesitant to
delete it.
Since I am so new to onenote, I am note sure of what it should look like
from the start. Where was the "unfiled notes" in the original install. I
see the unfiled notes icon at the bottum of the lefthand column. But where
was the actual unfiled notes folder to begin with?

In a standard install, it should have been at:

c:\Documents and Setting\<Your User Name>\My Documents\Onenote
Notebooks\Unfiled Notes.one
