Remove Audio Marker

I record meetings and later listen to the recording and create notes in OneNote 2007. The notes create a marker to a location in the audio file that was playing when I entered the note. This works great.

I need to delete a couple of these audio markers that I placed by mistake. How do I delete a single audio marker?

Re: Remove Audio Marker

I don't think you can remove a single marker; it's an all-or-nothing
situation to have the audio recording synced to the notes.

But there's no harm in keeping the markers; The markers are placed
whenever there is newe data added or at each paragraph.

Re: Remove Audio Marker

There is a powertoy at
http://blogs.msdn.com/johnguin/archi...r-onenote.aspx
which, among other things, lets you remove individual markers.

To install it:
exit ON and make sure it is gone from task manager
run the setup.exe (not the MSI) as an admin

You can also fine tune each marker's individual placement within the
recording.

Have fun!

Re: Remove Audio Marker

This looks like a nice tool but I am getting an unhandled exception error when attepting to use it. I think it may be the format of the wav files I'm using. They were created from an Olympus VN4100PC voice recorder and then imported into ON. The format of the wav file is CELP+ADPCM. ON doesn't have a problem with the files but the ON Media Fine Tuner doesn't like it. Would the file format cause the error condition? Thanks.

The error is: "Value 74792 is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'Minimum' and 'Maximum'. Parameter name: Value.

Re: Remove Audio Marker

that error means that there is a note associated with the sound file that
starts some time after the end of the recording. For instance, there is a
note at the 74.792 second mark, but for some reason, OneNote thinks the
length of the file is less than 74 seconds or so.

The only thing I can think is the file is reporting an incorrect time. If
it is somehow corrupted, it could be reporting a zero length.
