Three state Tag

Is there a way to create a custom three state tag,
similar to the two-state checkbox where the
1st Ctrl-1 creates the empty text box, the 2nd Ctrl-1 adds a check to the
box.

I would like to create a Red/Yellow/Green Icon which displays the status of
my items that I tag with it.
If possible, can someone point me to a resource that explains how to
accomplish this?

TIA
tom

Re: Three state Tag

What about just manually changing the tag from the red box to the yellow box
to the green box as needed? Those icons are available (just colored
squares) in the "Customize My Notes" section. Presuming you're running
ON2007 - not sure about 2003.

Re: Three state Tag

Thanks, Ben,

I am running ON2007, (sorry forgot to mention this!).

Good suggestion, I assume by "manually" you mean doing something similar to:
Ctrl - 1 to get a red box
Ctrl -1, Ctrl - 2, to remove the red box and set a yellow box
Ctrl - 2, Ctrl - 3, to remove the yellow box and set a green box

Is there an easier way to just by toggling Ctrl-1 to cycle thru them,
I am using three shortcuts for one status field.?

Now that I can't live without ON,
I want to set custom tags with customizable states (more than one) and the
ability to add custom icons.

Tom

Re: Three state Tag

For now I think that is the easiest way avaiable. I can't think of any good
way to script it because the script would have to be able to check the state
of the existing tag.

Re: Three state Tag

Thank for your help.
Maybe we'll see it as an enhancement in the next version of ON.
