mail merge from excel

I am having trouble getting my decimal places and currency type to transfer
to my merge. My colums are correct on the spread sheet, but when I merge it
ingnores the $ and correct decimal place. ex. On spread sheet it reads as
$545.46 but when merge it come out on my letter to be 545.45332. Any ideas?

Re: mail merge from excel

Use a Numeric format switch for your numeric fields. Press <Alt F9> to
toggle your field codes and add the following to your merge field: \#
"$#,###.00"

It would look something like:
{Mergefield MyField \# "$#,###.00"}

Re: mail merge from excel

"Didn't work" isn't a lot to go on here. :-)

Perhaps this is what you are missing? When you're finished editing the
field, press Alt+F9 again to toggle off the view of field codes. If you want
to see the change immediately, select the field and press F9 to update.

If that isn't it then can you provide some additional details on how it
didn't work? Such as did you see an error? If so, what was the error?

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
