I had Microsoft Office 97 on my old computer, I saved everything on CDs and
now I cannot open anything with a doc extension on my new computer with
Vista. Is there any way to convert the docs to open?

Do you have Word with the Vista Works program?

Copy the files to the hard drive and try again.

What application do you have installed that opens Word documents?

Works does not have word. I don't have any application now that I could use
to open the doc exts. I saw a works viewer on microsoft website.

Maybe you can use the Word 2003 viewer to copy your documents to Works
document?

Since your version of Works does not have Word or any other program that
will open a .DOC file, you may try using Open Office (version 2.2) which
will open and edit most .doc files.
