IE 7 tries to open Office 2007 files as ZIPs

We have posted instructions for our customers to download and install the
Office 2007 Compatibility Pack. We included a link to a Word 2007 file
(which simply said "congratulations...if you can read this, you've installed
it successfully")

When we hover over the link, it displays the extension correctly in the
status bar.
But when we click on it, IE alters the link to .ZIP.

This behavior does not occur in FireFox (even using the IE tab extension).

Any thoughts? It seems *very* strange that Microsoft's tool has the
problem when other tools do not.

Thanks,
Adam
