Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 startup error message

I receive the following message when I start Ms Outlook 2003 at home. I do
not use a MS product for e-mail and I removed GroupWise several months ago.
Outlook works fine at work where I do not use a MS product for e-mail. Could
someone please advise me what to do? Thanks, Bill

Close Outlook completely. Use Windows search to find and rename the extend.dat file to .old. Reopen Outlook. You may need to go one step further and create a new mail profile as well.

RE: Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 startup error message

Hi Milly, I found extend.dat in the folder named C:\Documents and
Settings\myname\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and changed
its extension to .old.

The error message persists. Outlook will not open.

A new file named extend.dat now exists.

Please advise. Thanks, Bill
