| Office 2003: Used Academic Copy, Licensing Rules? Experts: I am building an Access application for a *Commercial* customer. They want MS Office 2003. They want me to purchase for them a copy of Office 2003. eBay has a used academic copy of Office 2003 Professional up for auction. Question: Am I breaking any licensing agreements if I install it for commercial use on my customer's computer? If it were a new software or I had purchased this new from a store, then obviously the answer would be no. However, this is used and secondhand software off an auction block. Thank you! Dan |

| Re: Office 2003: Used Academic Copy, Licensing Rules? Hi Dan, The licensing provisions of a MS Office product don't really change on change of licensee :) It's a use license that is being authorized, the product 'ownership' stays with MS. ================= <<"Dan_vbguru" <Dan_vbguru@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4A98B1C4-B758-4E32-BB8C-B191AD9735C6@microsoft.com... | Re: Office 2003: Used Academic Copy, Licensing Rules? Yes, it is against the rules. Academic is for a student doing non-commercial work. Just because it's used doesn't mean the licensing terms no longer apply. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "Dan_vbguru" <Dan_vbguru@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4A98B1C4-B758-4E32-BB8C-B191AD9735C6@microsoft.com... > Experts: > > I am building an Access application for a *Commercial* customer.
