Microsoft Office Document Imaging and Scanning

After loading Office 2007. I can not view Fax documents. I get the following
error. The fax document cannot be displayed because your operating system
does not have a default viewer for fax documents (.tif files).

Also Microsofit Office Document Imaging or Microsoft Office Document
Scanning no longer shows in the programs!

Thank You
Phillip Brooks

Re: Microsoft Office Document Imaging and Scanning

Hi Phillip,

MS Office Document Imaging and Scanning are optional installation features. You can add them by changing the Microsoft Office
feature set from Add/remove Programs in the Windows control panel.

Re: Microsoft Office Document Imaging and Scanning

I have exactly the same problem which appears to be activated when Windows
installs automatic updates. I have an Office 2007 Trial running and it has
run without a problem for a few weeks - until the computer updated itself
while I was away. Since then I have tried most other options, including
manually reinstalling MODI in both 2003 and 2007. I have tried system restore
(which has worked for the same problem in the past) to a date when I know it
was working, but it then opens the first fax correctly and reverts to the
"....operating system does not have a default fax viewer installed (.tif)"
message thereafter.

I have also repaired the registry to enable Windows Picture and Fax Viewer -
but this does not last either - and in any case it is a nuisance compared
with MODI.

PLEASE does anyone have a solution?

Re: Microsoft Office Document Imaging and Scanning

Go to the following link where you will get MODI.
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\MODI\12.0\MSPVIEW.EXE"

All the best....
