Office 2007 and Outlook 2003 -- Outlook keeps sync'ing folders

I bought the student/teacher edition of Office 2007 (which does not
come with Outlook anymore) and upgraded my previous versions of other
office 2003 products (word, excel ... etc). Everything works great
with the exception of one thing: Every time I get an e-mail, Outlook
synchronizes my folders ... or something to that effect. I get the
dialog box that says "Please Wait While Windows Configures Microsoft
Office Home and Student 2007."

The box then does the usual "Gathering required information" and
"Configuring" steps that is typical of that dialog box.

I have a complete install of Office 2007 (and had a complete install
of Office 2003 before). I'm running windows XP (completely up to
date).

Does anyone have a suggestion or a link to a fix for this? I can't
seem to find anything on the 'net.

RE: Office 2007 and Outlook 2003 -- Outlook keeps sync'ing folders

Remember that Office 2007 documents use the new xml file format. You
probably need to use Outlook Express for email. Removing Outlook for the Home
and Student edition has been very unpopular.

I had something Similar when Using Outlook 2003 from an SBS server and I Installed Office 2007 Home and Student.
The only thing that fixed it was doing a repair (from add remove programs) on outlook 2003 - the problem doesn't seem to be Office 2007, but it must corrupt some outlook setting when you install it.
