| WORD cursor and "Font" selection under "Format" the Every so often, I do something that changes the vertical cursor into a thick horizontal black bar that is hard to work with. I don't know how to change it back except to restart WORD. This time, when it happened, I went up to format to make a change to my font. When I clicked on font under "Format," the choice for "Font" disappeared right from the pull-down menu and I can't restore it. Since I'm footnoting a paper, I'm dead in the water. How do I get the choice of "Font" under "Format" tab? Help! -- grouper34 |

| Re: WORD cursor and "Font" selection under "Format" It sounds like you're using Ctrl+Alt+Hyphen. Using the escape key should cancel the command deletion cursor, if you click on a command when it's live it will delete menu items. You may want to look at the article on restoring menu commands on http://word.mvps.org ============ <<"grouper34" <grouper34@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:84FB3123-C651-4D83-B834-7AACAB8A7A25@microsoft.com... the Every so often, I do something that changes the vertical cursor into a thick horizontal black bar that is hard to work with.
