Installing Office 2007 on multiple PC's

I have several PC's at home and would like to upgrade to Office 2007. Will
this require separate licenses or can I use a single purchased copy on all
machines?

Re: Installing Office 2007 on multiple PC's

Depends on the edition of Office that you need, the number of computers
you're talking about, and how you are using these computers.

Which 2007 edition (e.g., Standard, Professional, Ultimate, etc.) did
you get?

Hi Drum,

The MS Office 2007 Home and Student edition allows installation on 3 machines. The information should be on the side of the product
box, if I recall correctly.

Thanks. I'll check the box before I install to verify.

Re: Installing Office 2007 on multiple PC's

Hi, can I install the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 on 3 laptops?
But they are not in the same network.

Because I read the specification under the box read "Sharing notebooks
requires users to be on the same network".

Thanks :)

Of course, as long as they are in the same location....

Doesn't matter

Yes - if you want to share files, then you either need to be on the same
network, or you can email them back and forwards....

Then I think that is in breach of the Home and Student EULA.....

Re: Installing Office 2007 on multiple PC's

Here is the applicable part of the License, so No.

a. Licensed Device. You may install one copy of the software on three
licensed devices in your household for use by people who reside there.
The software is not licensed for use in any commercial, non-profit, or
revenue-generating business activities.

If the two places are households, why not? How would MS lose money? How
would they know?

Because at some point, you will need to stop asking yourself "how will they
know" if you want to get into heaven! :)
