| Mail Merge and database location not the same We are developing a set of letters for our clients to use to integrate with a database that our software produces in access. We will send them the letters with a generic mail merge already created in the document, but it won't have the exact path of the database on their computer. For instance, one customer may have the database located in C:\access and another may have the database located in C:\my data. I am wondering if there is a way that we can edit something (preferably through notepad or the like) on their computer to make it to where we can change this directory structure of the word document once its local on their computer? |

| RE: Mail Merge and database location not the same why can't you give some intructions to find the datafile the first time they run the merge ? | RE: Mail Merge and database location not the same We deal with end users. The more work that we can accomplish for them through an automated process, the better. Otherwise we'll be answering questions for weeks and walking them through the process. And with a few hundred customers and 4 people to answer the phones, thats not really an option.
