| Help with Product ID and Microsoft Support I finally found the Product ID of my software, but the Support site will not take it. I keep getting the message that there is a problem with the number. I have written, and re-written it. I have typed and re-typed it into the little box. I am absolutely sure I am using the right number, but it is a vicious circle. When I try to get someone to help me find out why it will not accept my number, it just sends me back to the support site where I am supposed to type in the number. I am getting so frustrated, I have spent about 2 hours just trying to get a simple answer. I bought the Microsoft Access 2007 upgrade, and before I break the seal on the product, (can't return it after that), I am just trying to be sure that my Office Suite qualifies. I have Home & Student Edition. Since I do not have a previous Access Edition, do I qualify for the upgrade? Thanks in advance for any help. |

| Re: Help with Product ID and Microsoft Support Where did you find that product key? If you are talking about Office Home and Student 2007, then yes, you qualify for the Access 2007 upgrade (technically it's a crossgrade). -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "Hasel" <Hasel@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9B7B0FCB-31BD-481B-841D-B50761AB4977@microsoft.com... >I finally found the Product ID of my software, but the Support site will >not > take it. | Re: Help with Product ID and Microsoft Support Thanks JoAnn, (I did install the Access upgrade and it worked) Microsoft does not make it easy. I'm sure that you know how to find it, but will post it in case someone else needs it. Product key: is the 25 numeric-alpha numbers on the software packing. To get the Product ID [this is what they were asking for]: Open one of your office suite programs, am using WORD for this example. Click on the Windows menu at the top left, on the bottom border of the drop down box there is a button that says "Word Options", click on that; then click on the last link, "Resources"; then click the "About" button. This brings up your registration page and the Produce ID number is below your name. I was on the phone with Dell for about 45 minutes, the girl was trying to help me. While I was on hold I found the answer, I think on one of the discussion threads. So when she came back I shared with her how to get the product ID and she said that would help her and the rest of the technicians to know that in the future :-) Did I mention that Microsoft does not make things easy?
