| Need Advice for Re installation I am using Microsoft Office Professional 2003. I have been using this upgrade for about 4 years. Lately I have been having issues with it and decided to uninstall and reinstall it. Prior to 2003 version upgrade, I was using Office 2000. Obviously, 2000 is not installed on my computer. I had disc 1 & 2 of Office 2000 saved in the event I needed to do a reinstallation of 2003 UPGRADE. In checking my 2000 disc I see that disc # 2 which is the disk I need in order to be able to install 2003 UPGRADE has a crack through the disc and it cannot be read for verification as needed to UPGRADE. Any suggestions as to what I can do so that I can use my 2003 installation? Thank you in advance for your support and suggestions, HankL |

Do you know someone else who has a copy? Borrow their CD to do your upgrade. A copy of their CD should work too. |

Disc 1 is mark Disc 1 and has a list a Office applications starting with Word. Can you borrow a friends copy of Office 2000 or Office XP. Any edition that is a qualifying product for Office 2003 {retail or OEM}or the disc for another qualifying product. What you need to prove a license {if ever asked} are the Office 2000 discs cracked or not. Don |

| Re: Need Advice for Re installation I certainly have the Office 2000 disks. As indicated prior disc 2 has a crack through it. I uninstalled Office Professional 2003 and put in Disc #1 with Word, etc and attempted to re-install Office Professional 2003 and all I got was an error message saying that it did not find a verification of the disc I do not know anyone that has Office 2000. I also have an upgrade copy of Office 2002 but do not know if that would qualify as a verification disk Any other suggestions would be appreciated. | Re: Need Advice for Re installation The upgrade copy of Office XP (2002) is a qualifying product and should work. When installing a new computer, I always use my last upgrade disc. When asked for a qualifying product, browse to the drive you are using not to a folder on the old Office disc. Other than selecting a folder on the disc vice the drive, I do not know why the Office 2000 disc 1 did not work.
