Problem with validation source for Office 2007

Recently, I installed Windows 7, then reinstalled Office 2300 and 2007
(upgrade CD). I received validation source error messages for both installs.
Office 2300 (Setup cannot find Proofing.en-us\Proof.en\Proof.cal, Browse to a
valid install Source), for Office 2007 (Setup cannot find
Access.en-us\Access.en-us\Acctr.cab, Browse to a valid installion source). I
using my original disks and product key(s). Would like advise on how to fix

Well theres no need to install 2003 in order to use your 2007 upgrade, you
merely need the 2003 cd available for when 2007 install complains about no
upgrade version.

And did you browse to the cd/dvd?

So, apparently Office 2003 was an upgrade, and Office 2007 an upgrade?
You need a qualifying version for 2003.

RE: Problem with validation source for Office 2007

Please ignore my question. I found the answer. I needed to remove Office 2300
and install Office 2007, rather than using Office 2007 as an upgrade to
Office 2300. After removing Office 2300, Office 2007 installed correctly.

Tom,
Thanks for your reply. I have a qualifying version. I needed to remove
Office 2300 before installing Office 2007. After reviewing install
instructions for Office 2007, I removed Office 2300 and installed Office
2007. Works perfectly.
