ERROR 1919 CONFIGURING ODBC

I am using Office Professional 2003 with Windows VISTA Home Premium 64 bit
O/S

When I attempt to do a Detect and Repair in Outlook 2003 I get the following
error message:

ERROR 1919 configuring ODBC Data Source MS Access Database ODBC Error 6
component not found in registry.

After I opened MSAccess 2003 and it automatically found that Access needed
to be repaired and did so automatically.

I then went to Detect and Repair and received the same error message again

Thank you in advance for your support and suggestions,

HankL

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=818954 "'Error 1919. Error
configuring ODBC data source' error messages when you run the Setup
program for Office 2003".

Re: ERROR 1919 CONFIGURING ODBC

Thank you for your suggestion in helping me try and resolve this issue.

I attempted to run MDAC 2.8 and it did not help resolve the issue.

I attempted to Export and Import as suggested in the link you sent ODBC from
another networked computer both with the same O/S and that did not work as
the target computer would not accept the download.

Are there any other suggestions.

I really appreciate your suggestion and following up to my request

Re: ERROR 1919 CONFIGURING ODBC

I have attached a copy of the error message when I attempted to import from
the registry of a network computer which has the same program on it

Re: ERROR 1919 CONFIGURING ODBC

'Error 1919 configuring ODBC Data Source
Component not found in registry.'

I research this error online and found instructions from Microsoft support
to help correct this problem
One of the instructions was to export two .reg files from another computer
on my network where the software was working and then import them to the
computer that needed to be fixed.
I did this, but it was not successful because on one of the ODBC files I
exported, I received the following error message when I attempted to import
it:

cannot import ODBC2.reg . not all data was successfully written to the
registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes.
The folder I exported this from in the registry was
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ODBC

I attempted to do this in Safe Mode and was not successful with importing
from there as well. I received the same error message
