Office 1997 in Windows 7

How can I install office 1997 in Windows 7? I like the simplicity of office
1997 can not install it. Up to Vista this was no problem so I wonder if this
is specific for Windows 7?

What does "cannot install it" MEAN? What happens when you try?
I have to say that I would advise against using such an obsolete and
vulnerable Office suite anyway.
If you can't afford a new version, look at Open Office. (It's free...)

Re: Office 1997 in Windows 7

Try running Setup in compatibility mode. Insert CD, right click Setup icon,
Properties, Compatibility tab. After you get done, you may have to do the
same for installed apps. I don't know if this will work on a CD file,
because they are read only, but it is worth trying. If that doesn't work
try copying the CD to a USB drive and set the Properties of Setup there.
