| Cannot download old messages I have just installed Outlook 2003 and am accessing e-mail on both an IMAP and a POP3 server. I am attempting to download complete messages to it, because the servers are slow. To do this I followed the following setup procedure: Tools>Send/Receive>Send/Receive Settings>Define Send/Receive Groups Click on group. Edit>>Accounts>Folder Click on folder Check Download complete item including attachments and used to download the messages: Tools>Send/Receive Mark to Download Message Copy This seems to work fine for new messages, but old messages still on the server will not download. This suggests that Outlook in some way incorrectly remembers which messages have already been downloaded and skipps them. There is a header on the messages on the server that changes when the message has been touched by some (other) e-mail programs. I have also read that Outlook keeps a record of what messages it thinks it has touched. Either of these mechanisms could be used to determine which messages will be downloaded. Which mechanism does Outlook use to identify messages to skip when donloading and How can I cause all the messages on the server to be downloaded? -- Sray |
