| Installing Office 2007 on laptop Hi All I have downloaded the trial version and installed over Office XP. The installation went fine and I'm now getting familiar with all the new stuff. My question is if I decide to buy the suite how do I install onto my laptop without having to buy a second copy. I assume that installing to both desktop and laptop is what is meant by a second installation to a mobile device. Thanks in advance |

I have never seen the EULA for the downloaded, converted trial so I don't know if this is considered a retail version or an OEM version (which would only allow installation on one computer.) If it is a retail (can be installed onto two computers) then yes, this is what the license would mean as a response to your question. You would copy the downloaded installation file to a disk or flash drive and use that to install onto the laptop and use the purchased key. Now, what I would really recommend is for you to go to Amazon.com and purchase the retail version of the software. If you still have the original install media for Office XP (and it is not the Student and Teacher version) you could even purchase any of the Office 2007 Upgrade suites and use the Office XP as the qualifying license for installing. It will probably be cheaper and you will also have a commercially prepared disk that contains the program suite on it. If this route is taken, uninstall the trial version totally plus any activation assistant and reboot the computer before installing this purchased disk onto the system. |
