HELP! Windows 7 acting up and there is no Windows 7 discussion gro

All at once, after trying for several days to correct other problems
associated with installing Windows 7 on my Lenovo T60 and having to format
the hard drive and install Office 2003, the icons on the taskbar are
inoperative or crazy. I click the "button" with the MS logo and nothing
happens, meaning I can't access programs or shut down normally. I click the
IE icon and nothing happens. Ditto for the Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
icons. When I click the Excel icon I get Outlook. When I click the Windows
Explorer icon, I get Internet Explorer.

Where can I go for help and what should I do? I am panicking.
