Office 2007 colors and Accessibility

I have "very specific" color requirements for a computer, a result of
albinism, I've been forced to Office 2007 and now menus/borders/skins/menus
are all harsh background colors with faint fonts and most of the reading
panes are black on black until I highlight each line/cell at which point I'm
back to the harsh backgrounds with faint fonts. It's like reading a 6 point
font writen on tissue paper by holding up to a lighthouse becon. My job is
now at risk because I can't see a thing (thanks Microsoft, nice compliance to
your own accessibility constraints), (adding insult to injury, the forums are
all black on black because microsoft.com doesn't even comply with IE
accessibility options).

Additionally, because of my specific color requirements the built in high
contrast windows color schemes are not a viable solution even though they do
modify all parts of the Office skins and custom schemes do not fully
integrate.

I've been looking for three days now to find a way of changing these
rediculous settings in Office. Does anyone out there have any idea how I can
do this, including hacking the registry??? I'm getting desperate!!!

Hopefully my spelling is correct, I don't know, I can't see what I'm typing,
black font on black background. (Sigh of frustration!!!)

Thanks in advance!

You must be a good typist ... at least that part's A-OK.

I don't know how to adjust the Office color settings but reading these forums
will be a lot more friendly if you use a news reader instead of the web
interface to the newsgroup. Faster and more productive as well.

This is about PowerPoint specifically but the same information generalizes to
other MS newsgroups here:
