| Office 2007 trial I recently purchased a new computer, had all my info transferred from my old computer and changed internet providers. I get my email through Microsoft Outlook and have had continuing problems. since I switched computers. When I try to reply to an email I get the message that "Outlook is starting Microsoft Word 2003 as my email editor". My computer freezes at that point and I cannot do anything except close it down through task manager. i don't have Microsoft Word 2003, I had 2002. I decided to download the 2007 trial to see if that would solve the problem. I got Word 2007 and Excel 2007, but the Outlook did not download and I am still stuck with the same problem. I don't want to purchase this product if I will end up with the same problem |

| Re: Office 2007 trial You dont mention what version of win you are using, nor do you mention how or what data was transfered Outlook 2002 is not fully compatible with Vista, most notably passwords are not retained so I would have expected a network password msg box to open You cannot install Outlook 2007 if any other version of Outlook is installed on your PC If you purchased a new PC did it have any trial version of Office installed? If you start Word or Outlook what does Help About state? | Re: Office 2007 trial Can you change the default email editor? a.. b.. Select Tools | Options from the menu in Outlook. c.. Click on the Mail Format tab. d.. Make sure the Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages is unchecked. a.. In versions before Outlook 2003, the text reads Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages. e.. Close the dialog. Outlook 2007 always uses Word for editing. | Re: Office 2007 trial Well, it worked once. Now when I reply I get the message "Microsoft Word is set to be your email editor. However, Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The Outlook email editor will be used instead." I really don't mind this because at least I am able to reply to my emails. But how do I get Outlook on the 2007 trial version? I am doing the trial to see how it works and interacts with all the aspects of Microsoft Office. "Pencilpusher57" wrote: > Thank you. | Re: Office 2007 trial If you have Office 2003 installed (inc OL 2003) and you install Office 2007 and select the upgrade option it will remove 2003 components contained within the 2007 version (inc Outlook 2003) If you plan on purchaseing 2007, uninstall the 2007 trial, reboot, prior to installing 2007 from cd. Generally its cheaper to buy 2007 direct from eg Amazon or other online retailers, and you get the cd/dvd, rather than purchasing via MS site, where you have to pay extra for the cd. Of course having (and keeping) your office 2003 cd qualifies you for an upgrade version of 2007 "Pencilpusher57" <Pencilpusher57@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:DED2B82B-0A12-4C94-94E2-202DBC6AAF99@microsoft.com... > Would this all be corrected if I were to purchase the Office 2007?
