| Re: Publisher 2007 cannot open .pub file but Publisher 2003 can! Thanks for the quick reply - it's very much appreciated! I'll do the update as soon as it's emailed to me. Now I am having problems with converting my .pub files to .pdf files using the Publisher 2003 on Vista 64. Oh man, am I starting to hate Vista 64!!! Again, the same file converts fine to PDF using Acrobat Distiller 8 when I was on XP and now in Vista 64, it's bombing out. Crashes the splwow64.exe. %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% %%[Page: 1]%% %%[Page: 2]%% %%[Page: 3]%% %%[Page: 4]%% %%[Page: 5]%% %%[Page: 6]%% %%[Page: 7]%% %%[Page: 8]%% %%[Page: 9]%% %%[ Error: ioerror; OffendingCommand: imageDistiller; ErrorInfo: DCTDecodeFilter Source error or end in scan 0 8x8 block 9710 ]%% Stack: -dict- %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %% It seems to be font related for a header title. As soon as I change the original font of Lucida to Arial Balck, it converts fine. WTH! Any ideas here, searching the forums didn't show too much and I am not sure if this Publisher 2003/2007, Vista 64 or Adobe... Last edited by Albsterama; 08-17-2009 at 04:05 PM.. |

| Re: Publisher 2007 cannot open .pub file but Publisher 2003 can! We have now over 100 installation of Office 2007 with SP2 at our location. This problem has just surfaced (not to mention all the other ones w/ O-07) and neither the hotfix or the registry fix works. Those with Publisher 2003 have no problems opening .pub files - just the ones with Publisher 2007 (from the Office 2007 Suite). So - next solution MVP? -- bwcc ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bwcc's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/149645.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/ms-office...rt/1233007.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

Microsoft Service Pack Uninstall Tool for the 2007 Microsoft Office suite http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954914/en-us If you have Norton, it can prevent you from opening Publisher files at times.
