I cover Word, Excel and Power Point. I'll admit I've never owned a book that covers Office as a whole, but I've skimmed a few. As someone who uses Excel on a daily basis, Word maybe once a month, and PowerPoint as seldom as possible (and have set PPT point files to open in the viewer by default) my impression of books covering all of Office is that their Excel coverage is so skimpy and superficial that there's minimal benefit to be gained from them. A dozen guided exercises in Excel (check register including interest earned on positive balances for formulas, data from science class experiments for charting - especially with trendlines, and a data collection exercise for water usage for each student over the course of a week for data forms, lists and pivot tables) or so would provide a more useful basis for real world Excel usage. Anyway, doesn't your district or state have a list of recommended texts? |

| Re: Office 2003 School Textbooks Doesn't the old ones give you any clues as to where they came from? That may be the source for your solution. My guess, however, is that you may have to develop your own curriculum based on the level of instruction and the time allocated. Maybe those highly marketed yellowish books for "idiots", no disrespect intended, might be something to look into.
