Product Key Office 2000 Question

Is the product key for Office 2000 specific to each disc? The reason I ask
is my disc 1 of the 2 is damaged and I was wondering if I used someone
else's disc 1 if I could use my own product key? I do have a legitimate
copy that I paid for. At one time my CD drive was malfunctioning and the
disc spun wildly when opening the drive door. As a result, the outer 1/4 to
3/8" of the disc is badly scratched.

Thanks

Re: Product Key Office 2000 Question

It needs to be the exact same version and edition for that to work.

Re: Product Key Office 2000 Question_Update

OK. I checked their disc and theirs is the regular version, mine is the
Update version. So are you saying this will not work? If it won't work,
can I get a replacement for my disc or am I out of luck? I don't even know
if they would have version 2000 still available to replace.

Thanks,

Re: Product Key Office 2000 Question_Update

Will not work. And you can no longer get replacement CDs for Office 2000.
I'm afraid you are SOL (sorely out of luck).
