Product key for Microsoft Office 2000

I recently needed to replace my hard drive on my computer which previoulsy
had Microsoft Office 2000 (sm. bus.) installed then was later upgraded to
Office Standard 2007. Long story short, I no longer have the product key for
the orgional Office 2000, I have the orgional disks, not the key.

The Office Standard 2007 is an upgrade version which I do have the Product
Key for but it can't be installed because there is nothing to upgrade in the
system. The old hard drive is destroyed, so there is nothing I can go back
to and my other computer that had this installed on previously was just
replaced about 3 months ago so it does not have the old key burried in it
anywheres at all. My question is: can i get this Product Key without a lot
of expense so I can install the newer Office Standard 2007? Is there
anywhere I can download a previous old version that nobody wants so I can
upgrade to what I have or am I just outta' luck? Would a "trial" version of
the Office Standard 2007 work and then use my product key to activate the
purchase? I'm grasping at straws here and really don't want to initiate
another expense!

You don't need to install Office 2000. Install 2007, and when it asks for a
qualifying program, take the disk out and insert the 2000 disk and follow
the prompts.

You do NOT need the product key for Office 2000 in order to use it as
the qualifying software for Office 2007 upgrade version. What makes you
think you do?
Insert the Office 2007 CD/DVD in your optical drive and follow the
instructions. At some point you will be asked to remove the Office 2007
disk and insert the Office 2000 disk. At no time will you be asked for
the Office 2000 product key.
