| Office 2007 Application will not launch OS - XP SP3 Office 2007 SP1 and SP2 Dual Core - 250GB HDD - 3.3 GB of memory I have multiple systems that will not launch any Office Applications... Excel, Word, PP, etc... When you try to launch it all you see is a blank screen, but you able to see the process in Task Manager. Upon rebooting everything will work, but within hours it stop working again. Ran repair and diagnostic but did not find anything. Reimage the system with corporate image and same issue arrive. Can't be corporate image because the other 1000 plus systems is running. Can't be hardware because the other 10 systems are having issue. Different model of course.. Any suggestion.. Oh yeah call MS Support and they have no idea... |

| Re: Office 2007 Application will not launch Hi Primarius, How can you be sure the 'corporate image' isn't the culprit when you acknowledge that at least some systems are "Different model of course". Many seemingly trivial hardware differences invalidate coporate imaging. To be safe, you need a different image for every hardware configuration. -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "Primarius" <Primarius@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3D209FF6-0C63-4A8E-A9D4-6F4C6D673A47@microsoft.com... > OS - XP SP3 > Office 2007 SP1 and SP2 > Dual Core - 250GB HDD - 3.3 GB of memory > > I have multiple systems that will not launch any Office Applications... > Excel, Word, PP, etc... > > When you try to launch it all you see is a blank screen, but you able to see > the process in Task Manager. | Re: Office 2007 Application will not launch You don't need a different image on different hardware. What are you talking about. Sysprep does it jobs and install all drivers for all model system as long as you put in the correct drivers. | Re: Office 2007 Application will not launch OK, Have it your way. You didn't mention Sysprep and I have no way of knowing whether you've included the correct driver for all the hardware variants. What I do know is that it's crashing and your install method is a good candidate for the cause. -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "Primarius" <Primarius@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:27BD7814-8FD3-475E-8C86-E33FFF5B5F2C@microsoft.com... > You don't need a different image on different hardware. Can you create a single ghost image to work on both single core processor and dual core processor? "macropod" wrote: > OK, Have it your way. | Re: Office 2007 Application will not launch Since you have your Microsoft MVP, I just don't want you giving wrong advice to other user. Because at the beginning it doesn't seem like you are very knowledgeable about your troubleshooting. I am here to ask for advice but the advice you gave me seem like you only been doing this IT stuff for about ehh 2-3 years.. | Re: Office 2007 Application will not launch Hi Primarius, In your original post you said you had reimaged the system "with corporate image" and "Can't be hardware because the other 10 systems are having issue. Different model of course". So, what you'd told everyone implied that you had tried to install the same image on different hardware configurations. No mention of Sysprep. You wouldn't be the first (or the last) to not understand the need for different setups for different systems. You need to keep in mind that no-one here is a mind-reader. Neither can we see your system. It's your responsibility to tell those from whom you're seeking help everything that could be relevant. Only in you second post did you mention Sysprep. Whether you configured it properly I don't know, but the fact Office 2007 runs OK on some of your hardware configurations but not on others, suggests otherwise. You could try installing both the OS and Office 2007 on one of the 'problem' PCs from the original Windows & Office media. If it then runs fine, your imaging process is confirmed as the most likely culprit. Otherwise, it might be an as-yet unidentified hardware issue. -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "Primarius" <Primarius@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F7F4C494-DBCF-4A92-95F5-248AE3A8772C@microsoft.com... > Since you have your Microsoft MVP, I just don't want you giving wrong advice > to other user.
