Electronic Download Of MS Office Ultimate 2007

MS has an offer for students to download and install MS Office Ultimate 2007
for 91% off! You could also spend a few more bucks and get an "MS Office
Ultimate Back-up DVD".. I really want to get this offer, but I have three
very worrying concerns:

1) In the future if I ever format my computer, will I be able to reinstall
office on it WITHOUT the DVD?

2) If re-installation is allowed (whether with the DVD or without it), could
it only be performed on the SAME computer that I originally had MS office
installed onto, or is installation on multiple machines allowed?

3) If installation on multiple machines is allowed (let's say every CD
allows me to install Office three times and I've already -obviously- used up
the first time to install it to my computer), then when I format my computer
re-reinstall office on it, will that use up a different installation? (ie,
will I have one installations left, or will the CD recognize that this is the
same computer, and I'll still have 2 installations left?)

SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER ME, BECAUSE I WOULD REALLY REALLY LIKE TO BUY THIS
PRODUCT BEFORE THE OFFER EXPIRES! =)
THANKS!!

Yes - as long as you save the downloaded file(s) to some sort of removable
media such as a DVD....

The EULA for retail versions of Office in general, says you can install on
one "Primary" device and one portable device that belongs to you.

It doesn't. The ONLY version that allows you to install on more than two
machines is Home and Student.

I agree. You really, really will want to do this, and put a text file on
the DVD with your Product Key.

Question 1. Get the DVDs (about 13 dollars) unless you have the capability
to burn your own two DVD set. The Ultimate package requires two DVDs and
possibly a separate download to get all of the package.

Question 2. See the part below numbered 15 for the reinstallation on the
same or other machines.

Question 3. See number 2 below. (One primary device and portable for use
of first primary user.

According to their (MS) support site, the Ultimate Steal give perpetual
rights just as if you purchased the retail product in the store so this EULA
applies which I have quoted part and can be downloaded here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

1. OVERVIEW. These license terms permit installation and use of one copy of
the software on one device, along with other rights, all as described below.

2. INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS. Before you use the software under a license,
you must assign that license to one device. That device is the “licensed
device.” A hardware partition or blade is considered to be a separate
device.

a. Licensed Device. You may install and use one copy of the software on the
licensed device.

b. Portable Device. You may install another copy on a portable device for
use by the single primary user of the licensed device.

c. Separation of Components. The components of the software are licensed as
a single unit. You may not separate the components and install them on
different devices.

15. REASSIGN TO ANOTHER DEVICE. You may reassign the license to a different
device any number of times, but not more than one time every 90 days. If you
reassign, that other device becomes the “licensed device.” If you retire the
licensed device due to hardware failure, you may reassign the license
sooner.

16. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY. The first user of the software may make a
one-time transfer of the software, and this agreement, directly to a third
party. The first user must uninstall the software before transferring it
separately from the device. The first user may not retain any copies. Before
any permitted transfer, the other party must agree that this agreement
applies to the transfer and use of the software. The transfer must include
the proof of license. If the software is an upgrade, any transfer must also
include all prior versions of the software.
