My Office 2007 suite says communicator is inluded, but it doesn't appear to
have installed on my system, nor is there an easy-to-access page on
office.microsoft.com about it.
Where is it? How do I get it on my system?

MS Office Communicator 2007 (a MS Office Unified Communications client product) will be released later this year and will then be
included in some Office 2007 suites. At present the 2005 client is shipping in those packages.

In the downloads of Office 2007 every other product is avaialble - will
communcator see the light at the end of this month with the rest of the 2007
products - or not? And what is holding it back in trial versions and
pre-release downloads?

The MS Unified Communications products,
http://microsoft.com/uc ,of which MS Office Communicator and Office Communicator Server are parts, are developed on a separate
schedule from the Office Suite and its related server products. Historically, the MS Office Suites seem to almost always have
something "in the box" that wasn't part of the core product line :)

As mentioned, you may want to post your question in the Office Communicator newsgroup on where they are with their final release.
